About Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care

Iain Rennie Hospice at Home

In April 2011, Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) merged with Grove House to become Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH). The merger follows years of collaboration between the two hospices and the successful integration of our patient services in 2010, which has already given 200 more patients access to 24/7 care. IRGH will use its combined resources to support more than 2,000 local families every year, with care tailored to the individual helping them to stay at home, if that is what they wish, regardless of their illness or prognosis.

IRGH offers specialist hospice care at home or in our day hospice for patients with a life-limiting illness in the Chilterns area of Bucks and the Dacorum, St Albans and Harpenden districts of Herts.

IRGH services include 24/7 call-out hospice care in patients homes and support for all the family following diagnosis, during the illness and after bereavement.

IRGH tailors care to patients needs, whether that is end of life care or support through treatment and into remission.

IRGH supplements nursing care with complimentary therapies and spiritual support for patients and carers.

IRGH works with other healthcare partners to ensure patients have access to information about their condition at all stages and the best care possible.

IRGH needs to raise £6million annually to meet demand for its services, all of which are offered completely free of charge.

IRGH relies heavily on public support to fund nearly 90% of its services.
