BBC Breakfast Presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star Bill Turnbull is walking the chalk for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home
Bill Turnbull and his dogs Ella and Nina have registered to Walk the Chalk for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) on Sunday 20th September 2009.
Following his support of the Goodnight Walk in June Bill was extremely keen to be involved in the Charity's brand new Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge event and has registered to walk along with both his dogs!
Bill said, "The dogs and I are really excited about being part of this brand new event for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. The Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge offers a fantastic day out for all the family and I would like to encourage you all to don your walking boots and join me, Ella and Nina to walk the chalk and raise much needed funds for IRHH."
The Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge will see Walkers and Runners have a choice of either a 5 or 9 mile route along the famous Ridgeway path. The 5 mile walk takes in 2 of the peaks, Whiteleaf Cross and Coombe Hill and the 9 mile route has Ivinghoe Beacon added onto the end.
IRHH is looking for 1000 people to take part in the first ever Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge and has set an ambitious fundraising target of £60,000. So get involved, register and help raise much needed funds for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
The money raised will be vital for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home which costs more than £3.2 million a year to run, and with only 12% of funding coming from the Government they rely heavily on events like the Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge to keep their nurses on the road.
Entry to the event is £15 and includes a Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge t-shirt, all transport on the day and refreshments along the route. To register click here, email c3peaks@irhh.org or phone 01442 890222.
