Hospice introduces new way to donate

Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH) has introduced a new and simple way for people to support its fundraising activities. Timed to coincide with the major push for one of its biggest fundraising events of the year, the Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge, all you need now to show support for the charity or event is a mobile phone.

The new service allows people to donate money simply by sending a text to 70070 and quoting the code CTPK01 followed by the amount of money (£1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10) they wish to give. The beauty of Just Text Giving is that it is simple, instant and can be done wherever you have a phone signal. 100% of the money donated goes directly to support the care provided by IRGH both in its day hospice and in patients' homes. Donors can choose from the 6 pre-set amounts between £1 and £10 and can donate up to a maximum of £30 each month with the amount donated either being deducted from a prepay credit balance or added to their monthly bill. They will also be sent a link by which they can add gift aid to their donation which ensures that IRGH receives as much money as possible from the donation. Sums higher than £10 can be donated via the Just Giving website

Ruth Barber, Events Manager at IRGH said:

"Obviously we want to encourage as many people as possible to join us on 18 September and walk through the beautiful Chilterns countryside to raise money. However, we do appreciate that not everyone can take part even if they want to, and if they don't know anyone else who is walking who they can sponsor, the new Just Text Giving service gives these people an opportunity to show their support for the Challenge. With the need to raise over £6 million each year just to maintain our vital services for patients with life limiting illnesses, every donation is really important to us."

A Just Text Giving code has also been set up for the charity generally. Simply text IRGH01 to 70070 and donate in the same new and easy way.
